Hey everyone,
just wanted some thoughts on the rejig of my building, i have respaced all of the sections at 1.5m intervals and used the water outline as the curve to place them on, i have additionally rotated each section curve to be perpendicular with the water curve.
I think this makes more sense at there is a rule to the spacing, and the wetlands themselve have an influence on the design.
I think this is a much more successful design. i had a look back at your previous proposal and this idea seems a lot "smoother" which suits the context it's in of the wetlands.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult to get a sense of scale and I'd really like to see how the space works inside as well, but the exterior is much better than before!

Hi Evie, I think it's looking good, i just think some more consideration to the spacing of the sections could be of benefit. You have each spaced each section at 1.5m apart. I think that the indoor seating would be of much higher importance/get more use than say the stargazing section, so maybe that could be reflected in the form of the building? There could still be a rule to the spacing, but if it was defined by something more than just spacing out each area with the same distance.

Thanks guys, very useful -evie
ReplyDeleteI think Todd's thoughts on the spacing and Sarah's on the interior are both excellent Evie. I guess the issue of the position of the profiles has to do several things - they must respond to the context and also make sense of the interior functioning of the building. The scheme is really coming along!!
