Axo Diagram
hey peeps, here is an exploded axonometric diagram that ive done. it is more or less a hybrid parti/axo of my project.
it's supposed to show the underlying concepts behind my building, which is mainly the bike path running through the middle of the island platform and the man-made tree-like beams which encompass the station. so basically, the main strucutural features of the station.
anywho, feedback would be great :) - dmitry

jpegs?
hey andrew, the line weights on my pdfs look like shit! i tried making the line weights thinner and played around with different page sizes but it has no difference. is it ok if i jpeg them instead for the crit?
Tim
This is just a very simple line drawing that im trying to communicate a few things in.
- r'ship between front and back canopy
- division of internal space
- circulation through the space
so thoughts on how well this works would be lovely. thanks guys

site plan scales
hey guys. sasha here. i was just wondering about scales for the site plan. the top image is at 1:500 and the bottom at 1:1000. the lineweight and shading on the station shows the different translucencys. the problem with the 1:1000 is that u cant really see the detail that well and theres a lot of empty space. with the 1:500 however i cant fit all of the context in but the things that are cut out arent exactly that important. its just the continuation of the car park. the other option is i could stick to the 1:1000, and then do a detailed roof plan of the station at a much larger scale. decisions, decisions....
other comments on the drawings would also be appreaciated =) i shaded the grassland because a lot of my views were about opening up to the grassland. i located the bus bays and taxi bays close to the rehearsal spaces. other than that theres not that much going on with the context in caroline springs

Scale
For the folio, i was wondering about scale. At 1:200 my plans and sections are too big to fit on the page, and at 1:500 they are are really small and crappy looking. Is it weird to use a scale like 1:400? Or would it be better to have a scale bar on the drawings and show the drawings at a readable size
cheers
Michael

more axo
Wednesday, June 9, 2010
Hey hey , Dan again. I have an issue that i have a bad feeling i will get canned over. Have a look at these to drawings, let me know your thoughts on how they read.
My issue is that in the two drawings - masterplan 1:2000 & floor plan 1:200 - they are oriented in opposite directions. Now i understand and agree that all drawings should remain consistent, yet with these individual drawings, they both work best the way that i have shown them, and i have drawn them purposely this way. I honestly dont see it as a massive problem, just wanted to get some thoughts. Let me know what you guys think, and if it is confusing or not, and any other issues you can see with the drawings.
Cheers
Dan
First slide is a research page justifying my decisions for the ten specific sister sites throughout the world,
The left of this slide shows where the ten specific sites sit throughout the community, and the right side is a 1:2000 masterplan, showing circulation, parking, etc.
Obviously the content will make more sense when i am up speaking about these slides, just would like feedback on how they read, ie - line weights, colour, positioning etc. And keep in mind when printed these slides are A5 sheets, so the text will actually be quite small
Thanks guys
Dan

Printing
Coming up to printing our folios I was just thinking it would be handy to share where people go to print stuff and/or what good or bad places people have printed at..
I've used officeworks and kwikopy in the past which are both pretty rubbish, but have recently discovered Commercial Plan and Copying Service on Springvale Rd http://www.cpcs.com.au/ which is really good for big plans- cheap, quick and good quality.
Anyone got any other good places?
